I grew up in government subsidized housing for the past 20 years in San Francisco and it has been critical for my upbringing. I’ve had access to great internships, educational opportunities, and had the chance of being a participant of amazing organizations like 10,000 Degrees. All of these experiences shaped who I am today because affordable housing allowed me to live in San Francisco. After graduating from UC Davis in August of 2020 in the height of the pandemic, deciding to establish a career in affordable housing real estate development was an easy choice. I wanted to help low-income individuals and families who experienced something similar to me by providing them an affordable place they can call home within their communities. Now, I work for Mercy Housing as an Assistant Project Manager developing new construction in San Francisco.
